The Minnesota TKD Center is fortunate to have a dedicated staff of experienced instructors, each of whom has their own special set of skills to offer. Combined, the teachers at the Minnesota Taekwondo Center have over 150 years of experience in taekwondo and related martial arts.

Master Punnarin Koy – Master Instructor – 4th Dan Black BeltMr. Koy, CEO and President of the Minnesota Taekwondo Center, is a WTF certified 4th Dan black belt in taekwondo and a national-level competitor. He is a member of the All Army Taekwondo team 2008-2009 and was the 2008 Armed Forces Silver medalist. Mr. Koy was a silver medalist in sparring at the 1992 National Collegiate TKD Championships and a bronze medalist in 1993. 2009 silver medalist National Qualifier. He serves as a Captain in the United States Army Reserves. He has recently completed a tour of duty with the U.S. Army in Iraq and has now returned to take the leadership position of the Minnesota Taekwondo Center |

Master Tony Guidote – Master Instructor – 4th Dan Black BeltMr. Guidote originally began studying the martial arts in his native Philippines over 18 years ago. He began his study of taekwondo while he was a student at the University of Minnesota and is a WTF Certified 4th Dan black belt. He is a USTU certified Continental Referee and Coach, and has been the main instructor at several of the Minnesota TKD Center clubs, including the U of M. Mr. Guidote is a member of the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Taekwondo Center. |

Prof. Mike Steenson – Master Instructor – 4th Dan Black BeltProfessor Steenson has been studying taekwondo for 23 years and is a WTF Certified 4th Dan black belt. In addition to taekwondo he has studied aikido, shorin-ryu karate, and boxing, and also studies with the Minnesota Kali Group. Prof. Steenson is a USTU certified A-1 referee. He is the Margaret H. and James E. Kelley Professor of Tort Law at William Mitchell College of Law, where he specializes in constitutional and tort law. Prof. Steenson is a member of the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Taekwondo Center. |

Master Al Fix – Master Instructor – 4th Dan Black BeltMr. Fix is a WTF certified 4th Dan black belt in Taekwondo and is the Head Instructor at our Coon Rapids location. Mr. Fix is the General Manager of the Minnesota Taekwondo Center. In 1993, Mr. Fix earned a Gold Medal in Creative Form at the National Taekwondo Championships. He is a formerly active duty United States Marine (1977-1981) and is currently enrolled in the iPhone Application Development Program. |

Master Tom Boehme – Master Instructor – 4th Dan Black BeltMr. Boehme has been studying TKD for over 30 years and is a WTF 4th Dan black belt. He is a five time Minnesota state Black Belt sparring champion and has numerous other medals in sparring and forms competition. He is also a WTF certified referee. Mr. Boehme has undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of St Thomas and is the CFO of Berger Transfer & Storage in St. Paul |

Mr. John Soebbing – Instructor – 3rd Dan Black BeltMr. Soebbing is a USA certified 3rd Dan Black Belt and teaches many of our children’s classes. He has studied taekwondo for 15 years at the MN Taekwondo Center. Mr. Soebbing teaches self-defense for children within his classes. He strives to teach each child their own strengths within themselves and through their martial art training. Mr. Soebbing is a state certified welder, wildlife artist, and photographer. |
Mr. Mark Brudzinski – Instructor – 2nd Dan Black BeltMr. Brudzinski has been studying taekwondo for 22 years and is a WTF certified 2nd Dan black belt. He is also a WTF certified Referee. Mr. Brudzinski is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, and is the CEO of Northwest Casting, Inc. in St. Paul. |

Ms. Linda Ramsay – Instructor – 2nd Dan Black BeltMs. Ramsay is a USA TKD certified 2nd Dan Black Belt. She has studied taekwondo for 8 years at the MN Taekwondo Center. Ms. Ramsay also trains in martial arts at the MN Kali Group. She teaches both adult and children’s classes at the MN TKD Center. Ms. Ramsay has also participated in and taught many self-defense seminars. She has a personal interest in teaching self-defense. She plays softball competitively and coaches both fast pitch and slow pitch. Ms. Ramsay is also a Nationally Certified Personal Fitness Trainer and a Nutritional Consultant. |

John Haaland, Ph.D. – Master Instructor EmeritusDr. Haaland, former Senior Instructor and Chairman of the Minnesota Taekwondo Center, has 40 years of experience in the martial arts, including several years in kenpo in addition to taekwondo. A former Fortune 500 company executive and founder of numerous start-up companies, he holds a Ph.D. in biophysics and is an expert in health and fitness. He is a WTF Certified 5th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo, and a USTU certified Continental Referee. In addition, he spent five years teaching special taekwondo programs for at-risk youth. It is his personal objective to make all teachings scientifically sound and balanced in the development of mind, body and spirit. |
